ACA (Affordable Care Act)
Federal law governing employer-sponsored health coverage, including employer-mandate, reporting (1094/1095), and minimum-essential-coverage requirements.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) imposes employer-shared-responsibility obligations on Applicable Large Employers (50+ FTEs), including offering minimum essential coverage, meeting affordability tests, and filing 1094-C / 1095-C forms annually.
A PEO can administer ACA reporting on behalf of clients but the legal employer-mandate obligation generally remains with the client. CSAs and PEO ACA service descriptions should be read carefully to confirm filing responsibility.
